At the meeting, representatives of the community groups reported the activities of the first 6-month period via visual presentations with pictures and panels. Accordingly, during the first 6-months of 2017, under the communication program of the Integrated Water Resources Management and Urban Development in relation to Climate Change in Ninh Thuan Province Project, CAGs carried out a variety of activities, mobilizing the community’s involvement in water resources and environment protection. Those activities were organized in combination with the related competitions such as drawing, musical performance, dialogue, quiz, campaigns on clearing ditches, propaganda in union activities, etc. The activities were diversified, creative and attracted community’s attention into the local project activities. In order to promote these achievements, the CAGs develop the orientation Activity plan and schedules for the late 6 months for the topics of effective use of water resources, reduction of greenhouse gas emission, participation in monitoring the pilot construction works in the local area.
Integrating the contents of the wrap-up meeting, Ms. Nguyen Minh Duc, TSU’s Community and Communication Expert shared the communication content to increase the water resources protection, water effective use and reduction in emission of green-house gas for the community though the activities of surveys on water resources general knowledge, greenhouse gas, and group discussion on action plan in the community.
According to the report, with the purpose of implementing the community communication development program under the Climate Change Project, MCDU cooperated in establishing a communication network, including: the provincial department/ agency group, city/district CAGs, community organization groups, enterprises, green clubs at schools and volunteer student group for environment and community. Since 2013, MCDU, in the cooperation with these groups, has implemented a variety of communication activities and programs which attracted thousands of participants.
