Son Hai water supply work is planned to consist of two implementation stages. The first stage was to construct pumping station, water container and major pipeline system. The works had been implemented within 10 months (from February to December, 2016). The second one was to construct distribution pipeline system and install water meters for all the households. Its duration was within 2 months (from February to April, 2017). The whole work’s objective is to provide treated water for nearly 12,000 households and manufacturing at 5 hamlets of Phuoc Dinh commune.
After getting information about the workable water supply methods presented by the representatives of MCDU and Ninh Thuan Water Supply Joint Stock Company, about 98% of local people selected the treated water for urban areas option and agreed to pay water bills in compliance with the decision No. 50/2017/QD-UBND, dated June 30, 2017 issued by the Provincial People’s Committee approving options of treated water consuming price and regulation of treated water consuming price level. The Communal authority also provide their commitment to propagandizing, mobilizing the public to practice water-efficient use and invested work protection.
The work is planned to operate from July 21 – 31 and supply water to the people in early August, 2017.
The consultancy workshop on domestic water supply for Phuoc Dinh commune is an activity under the program of “Results- based Scaling up Rural Sanitation and Water Supply – WB3 Project”, invested by the budgets of the Central Government and World Bank.
