At the meeting, the Project Management Unit (PMU), TSU and the consultants discussed and agreed on several contents related to the package progress, equipment categories and technical requirements of EWS devices, EWS software interface and the implementation plan in the next period.
Accordingly, the consultant will continuously carry out the following steps based on the Expert’s recommendations. It is expected the study package finishes at the end of December, 2017.
This EWS package plays an important role in risk forecasting in Ninh Thuan province. Therefore, the PMU suggested the consultants to show plans in terms of target users and system operation and management to ensure appropriate programs in training, operation handover support to the reality of the province. Also, the consultants will support the province in developing workable plansto integrate the provincial EWS software into the natural disaster prevention and control system of the Directorate for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
As a follow-up of the EWS review, MCDU and the TSU’s expert reviewed the overall project progress. Due to the limited remaining project duration, TSU expressed their agreement on a complete investment of Cau Ngoi work, enabling MCDU to carry out needed submission procedures to receive BTC’s Non-objection Letter and investment preparation works to be implemented promptly afterwards.
