As stated in 2017 report, several projects have been implemented by MCDU, including: Integrated Water Resources Management and Urban Development in relation to Climate Change in Ninh Thuan Province (granted by the Government of Belgium); Son Hai Water Supply System (financed by the budget of the Central Government and World Bank); Results-based Scaling up Rural Sanitation and Water Supply (funded by the World Bank).
Besides coordinating the provincial departments and units to implement successfully the strategic research packages for the province such as Climate change scenarios downscaling, hydraulic - hydrological modelling of Dinh river, etc., MCDU has gained the completion and handover of Son Hai Water Supply System, providing treated water for around 12,000 local people at the coastal region of Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, and applied the model of tree planting with the participation of community and private sector. Plentiful communication activities towards raising community awareness in climate change resilience, effective water resources use measures and diseases prevention in the context of climate change have been carried out through the above projects.
Especially, this year MCDU has mobilized successfully the Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment project – Sub-project of Phan Rang – Thap Cham City with the total investment of VND 2,000 million financed by preferential loan program of the World Bank.
The year of 2018 is considered as a challenging time for MCDU team. In addition to putting in a great performance of these above-mentioned projects, MCDU’s leader board have also focused on capacity building in soft skills including external relations, event organization, effective internet applications in working for the staff on.
